Principal’s Message

Welcome to St. Michael Catholic Secondary School,

Our school has a proud history and tradition of providing students in Perth County with an exceptional educational experience: one that is rooted in our Catholic faith, our sense of community, our collective need for discipline, and the invitation to strive for academic excellence.

As we settle into another school year, we would like to emphasize the message that has been shared with students which calls them to: Be Kind, Do Their Best, and Get Involved.

  • Kindness is at the centre of everything we do. By showing empathy and respect to one another, we build a school where everyone feels valued and supported. Acts of kindness create a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for all; when we lead from the lens of kindness, we strive to put the needs of others first – we look out for each other, we celebrate our differences, and we enable everyone to shine.
  • Doing Your Best is not about perfection; it’s about putting in the time and effort. We encourage all students to approach their studies and co-curricular activities with dedication and perseverance. Whether it’s tackling a difficult concept in a course or working toward personal goals, giving your best effort will help you grow in the fullest way possible: academically, mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually.
  • Getting Involved is what makes school life rich and rewarding. We encourage all students to take part in clubs, sports, the arts, social justice endeavours, volunteer opportunities, and other activities. By engaging with your peers, and contributing to the school community, you make meaningful connections and gain experiences that will remain with you during your time at St. Michael CSS and long after.

Together, staff, students, and families will create a school year full of growth, possibility, positivity, and success.  Together, we will message to all what it means to be a Warrior.  “Be who God meant you to be, and you will set the world on fire.” ~ St. Catherine of Siena.
